Another rotation of force protection platoon deploying to UNIFIL
A Training Command’s force protection platoon deploying to UNIFIL, was seen off at the "Constantine the Great" airport in Niš.
Over the next six months, the force protection platoon will be responsible for securing the base in UNIFIL’s Sector West, as part of the Italian contingent. In Lebanon, they will take over from the previous, fourteenth platoon deployed to UNIFIL, which has successfully carried out all tasks in keeping with the mission's mandate and represented the Republic of Serbia in the best way.
The Serbian Armed Forces’ participation in this peacekeeping mission began in 2010. In addition to a force protection platoon, the Serbian Armed Forces also provide an infantry company to UNIFIL, which performs tasks as an independent unit as part of the Spanish battalion, as well as staff officers and national support elements in Sector East.
