Soldiers performing military service make their first parachute jumps
The Class of September 2021, who are performing their military service in the 63rd Parachute Brigade, have successfully performed their first jumps in the final part of their basic parachute training.
In this elite SAF unit, they are trained as paratroopers and learn how to perform collective tasks assigned to the brigade. Before reaching the final phase of parachute training, the soldiers successfully completed all elements of basic individual training in the Training Command units and then underwent tactical, weapons and ground training in the 63rd Parachute Brigade. During that time, they acquired basic military skills, learned how to handle personal weapons and equipment, and mastered parachute jumping techniques.
During their military service, paratroopers perform day and night parachute jumps, with weapons and additional load. They jump from the An-2 aircraft, using modern parachutes that the unit has been using since 2018. Following the unit's tradition, the commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, Brigadier General Nenad Zonić, performed the jump with the young soldiers, giving them support at this important moment in the life of every paratrooper and showing appreciation for their hard work and commitment.
Upon the successful execution of parachute jumps and completion of basic parachute training, soldiers are awarded the title "paratrooper", and get the opportunity to become professional members of this elite unit of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which everyone in this class has already expressed interest.
