Participation of Serbian Armed Forces in project aimed to provide support to local community in Lebanon

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces infantry company participating in UNIFIL took part in a project aimed to provide support to the residents of the village of Deir Mimas in Lebanon.
The project, run by the UN mission, aims to promote gender equality and the locals’ understanding of the role of women in peacekeeping operations. On this occasion, female members of the Serbian, Spanish and El Salvador armed forces, together with the residents of Deir Mimas, made various products, thus supporting the development of women's entrepreneurship in the local community.

Participation of our soldiers in such activities contributes to building up mutual trust, the support of the local population for the tasks performed by the Serbian contingent in Lebanon, and the reputation of the Republic of Serbia in this Middle Eastern country and among members of foreign armed forces.

Due to hard work, professionalism and commitment, female members of the Serbian Armed Forces who are deployed to UNIFIL and other UN and EU missions, have lived up to expectations, and together with their male colleagues, they represent the Serbian Armed Forces and Serbia in a dignified way.
