Off-road driver training for participation in peacekeeping missions

Last week, members of the Serbian Armed Forces underwent an off-road vehicle operating training course in preparation for peacekeeping missions in the Traffic Service Training Battalion in Kraljevo.

The goal of the one-week training is for officers assigned to staff officer duties in peacekeeping missions to learn how to safely operate off-road vehicles and acquire the necessary skills in carrying out maintenance of supporting equipment and systems.

The first part of the training focused on theoretical instruction and driving "Defender" and "Puch" vehicles on public roads, followed by the most challenging part of the training – off-road driving at the “Beranovac” motor vehicle training grounds near Kraljevo.

By tackling obstacles on the off-road driving course, which was built based on experience from peacekeeping operations, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have acquired the necessary skills in driving vehicles on rough terrain, which often tests drivers' skills and vehicles’ performance.

The off-road driver training is a mandatory part of the comprehensive preparations that members of the Serbian Armed Forces have to complete before being deployed to peacekeeping operations as observers, staff officers and drivers, in order to be fully prepared for all tasks in the area of operations.
