Demonstration of capabilities of part of 72nd Special Operations Brigade



The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić has attended the demonstration of capabilities of part of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade at the “Rastko Nemanjić” barracks in Pančevo. The President was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojsa Stefanović, PhD, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.  Following the demonstration, President Vučić wished the participants and their families a happy New Year.

- I hope you continue to work hard, train hard, love your country as you always have, and fight. And as far as equipment and salary are concerned, we will strive to improve them month by month, year by year, and you should make every effort to keep up with the best special forces from all over the world. Learn from everyone, and protect what is yours. And once again, thank you for everything you do, thank you very much for your love of Serbia. Once again I wish you and your families all the best. Thank you. Long live Serbia! - said President Vučić.  During the demonstration of capabilities, a part of the unit showed its counter-terrorism skills in cooperation with the Air Force and Air Defence helicopter unit.
The 72nd Special Operations Brigade’s reconnaissance and counter-terrorism units demonstrated their skills, the use of the Cornet anti-tank system was simulated, and the use of service dogs was shown.  On this occasion, Miloš and Hummer combat vehicles, H-145M helicopter, UAV system, remote-controlled Little Miloš unmanned platform and Cornet anti-tank missile system were used during the demonstration of capabilities.

Presentation of Cornet anti-tank missile system

Today, the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić has attended the presentation of the Cornet anti-tank missile system, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović. The presentation took place at Pančevo’s “Rastko Nemanjić” barracks.
The Cornet-EМ anti-tank missile system that the 72nd Special Operations Brigade is equipped with, is intended for the destruction of armoured targets, targets with explosive reactive armour, and fortifications by day or by night.
The Cornet anti-tank missile system set consists of a launcher with a tripod, a sighting device, an anti-tank guided missile, tools and accessories. The anti-tank missile has a range of 150 to 8000 m. It has a thermal imaging sight and can penetrate 1100-1300 mm of armour. The system can operate at temperatures between -20º and + 60º degrees Celsius.

President Vučić arrives at “Rastko Nemanjić“ barracks

The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić has arrived at Pančevo’s “Rastko Nemanjić” barracks where he will visit the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and attend the presentation of the newly procured Cornet anti-tank system.
The President was greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.

After receiving a report in front of the Ceremonial Guard, President Vučić, accompanied by Minister Stefanović and General Mojsilović, will attend the presentation of the Cornet anti-tank missile system and the demonstration of capabilities of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade.
