Minister Stefanović and Chief of General Staff Mojsilović talk to Serbian peacekeepers
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, talked to the commanding officers of the Serbian contingent deployed to eight UN and EU multinational operations. The conversation took place at the Operations Centre via video call.
A total of 278 members of our armed forces currently participate in eight missions around the world. Minister Stefanović said that during his visits, he had heard nothing but favourable impressions about Serbian soldiers and their deployment everywhere in the world.- They represent the Republic of Serbia in the best possible way. When I was in Spain recently, I had the opportunity to hear from the generals commanding the contingents on these missions, that our soldiers are among the best in the world and that they are easy to collaborate with, because they perform their tasks professionally and without any delays. Of course, it is important to me that our people are healthy and safe, and that our operation commanders make sure that they are safe and protected from contagious diseases such as Covid-19 – Stefanović emphasized.
He thanked all members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence for always representing Serbia in a very serious and professional way.- They do their job keeping the peace in such a way that makes us proud at all times and I want to wish them and their families a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and to tell them that we are always there for them, that they can count on the support from their Ministry and their armed forces 24 hours a day - said the Minister of Defence.
The National Contingent Commander in MINUSCA, Central African Republic, and Senior National Representatives in peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, Somalia, Cyprus, Congo, Operation ATALANTA and UNTSO in the Middle East talked to Minister Stefanović and General Mojsilović about the situation in the areas of operation, activities and personnel’s health.
