Visit from Commander of Allied Joint Forces Command Naples
Today, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović met Commander of Allied Joint Forces Command Naples Admiral Robert Burke who is paying a visit to the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, the interlocutors talked about current security situation in the region and the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and Allied Joint Forces Command Naples, with the focus on the realisation of joint activities in the field of training and exercises in cooperation with KFOR.
They evaluated that the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and Allied Joint Forces Command Naples is intensive and that it is carried out in the framework of the Partnership for Peace Programme with full respect for the policy of military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia.
Having in mind that the international forces in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija are within the purview of the Allied Joint Forces Command Naples, the focus of the meeting was placed on the role of KFOR in maintaining peace and security in the Province. This time as well, General Mojsilović emphasised the position that KFOR is responsible for the protection of the entire population in the territory of our southern province and for the protection of Serbian national, cultural and historical and religious heritage, since KFOR is the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija.
On this occasion, the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces and Commander of Allied Joint Forces Command Naples signed an exercise specification for a joint exercise to be executed in our country next year.
During his visit to the Republic of Serbia, Admiral Bruke attended the ceremony of the handover of office of Head of NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade and had a meeting with Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD.
