Meeting of Working group on creating conditions necessary for reintroduction of mandatory military service
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, held a meeting today with members of the Working group on creating conditions necessary for the reintroduction of mandatory military service.
The meeting considered different models of mandatory military service, designed after the models existing in European countries, and analysed the measures and activities undertaken so far in this regard.Competent organisational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces reported to Minister Stefanović on the state of infrastructure facilities, capacities of the Training Command, and the logistical and normative requirements necessary for the reintroduction of mandatory military service.
Minister Stefanović said that over the weekend, he will inform the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić about potential models of mandatory military service, should a decision be made on the reintroduction thereof.
