Visit to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković, paid an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, at the invitation of the Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces, Admiral Timothy Fraser.
Yesterday, General Cvetković met with Admiral Fraser at the UK Ministry of Defence, where they discussed the current security situation in Europe and the region, bilateral military cooperation and the possibility of its improvement, as well as experiences in suppressing and preventing the spread of Covid 19.
It was assessed that the military to military cooperation is intensive and substantial, and the joint participation in exercises and in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, where a Serbian military police detachment is deployed as part of the British contingent, was especially emphasized.
During his stay in Great Britain, General Cvetković also visited the 6th (United Kingdom) Division, where he was introduced to the mission, tasks and purpose of this British Army unit by its commander, Major General Gerald Strickland.
