Minister Stefanović meets with Chief of Defence of Spain
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, talked today in Belgrade to the Chief of Defence Staff of the Kingdom of Spain, Admiral General Teodoro E. López Calderón, about the possibilities of improving defence cooperation between our two countries.

Emphasizing the importance of mutual support for the protection of sovereignty and adherence to the principles of international law, Admiral Calderon reiterated Spain’s position of principle about the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo and thanked Serbia for its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Spain.
Referring to the very good and friendly relations between the two countries, Minister Stefanović expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of defence cooperation and pointed out the possibilities for its improvement.
He said that the crown of cooperation is our joint participation in multinational operations, especially in UNIFIL. Stefanović emphasized our commitment to continuing military to military cooperation activities, with a focus on the exchange of experiences and participation in multinational operations, CBRN and special forces’ cooperation, as well as the cooperation in military-economic and military-technical fields.

The Chief of Defence Staff of the Kingdom of Spain, Admiral Calderón, is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
