Participation in political directors meeting under A-5 initiative



Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić participated in the part of the meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter (A-5) open to observers. The meeting was held in Zagreb and it was dedicated to issues of regional cooperation and the European integration process in the Western Balkans.
  During the political directors meeting, Bandić spoke about the strong commitment of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia to peace and stability, as well as its active participation in all regional initiatives. He emphasized the participation of the Serbian Armed Forces in EU and UN missions and crisis management operations.

Acting Assistant Minister Bandić talked about the contribution of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to the EU Common Security and Defence Policy, and expressed hope that the Slovenian presidency of the EU Council would give impetus to the overall process of European integration in the region.
  Since 2008, the Republic of Serbia has been actively participating in the A-5 initiative as an observer.
