Preparations for live fire drill at “Shabla” Air Defence Firing Range
In the coming days, members of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence will join with members of the Bulgarian Armed Forces to fire missiles at aerial targets at the "Shabla" Air Defence Firing Range on the Black Sea coast.
The 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade’s combat crews and members of the 204th Air Brigade are already in Bulgaria, making final preparations for the live fire drill. At “Shabla”, members of missile units are practicing procedures necessary to prepare for and conduct firing, checking the equipment and preparing the missiles, while at the Graf Ignatievo Air Base near Plovdiv, pilots and technical staff are finalizing pre-flight preparations for the upcoming firing.
Members of the 250th Missile Brigade will engage aerial targets using the "Neva" and "Kub" missile systems, while members of the 204th Air Brigade will fire air-to-air missiles from MiG-29 aircraft.
Live fire drills aim to improve overall capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defence units for the defence of airspace and to prepare individuals and combat crews for the most difficult and complex tasks. It is also an opportunity to check the success of intensive training and firing practices carried out on the training grounds at home.
