Minister Stefanović visits Military Technical Institute

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited the Military Technical Institute, where he attended a presentation of armoured combat systems development projects that are currently underway. He thanked the employees for their hard work, which helps make our armed forces as efficient as possible.
  - It is always a pleasure to see how much our defence industry and the Military Technical Institute are progressing and how much the Institute's engineers and experts contribute to our military efficiency, by working on the development of weapons, which are a product of domestic intelligence, and which are later introduced into the Serbian Armed Forces’ armaments. I’ve had the opportunity to see all the products that are already part of the prototype phase or zero series, as well as the products that will soon be part of serial production and enter service, and we also talked about some new projects - Minister Stefanović said.

Assistant Director of the Military Technical Institute, Colonel Miodrag Lisov, and his associates introduced the Minister to the Institute’s current projects involving the development of a number of armoured combat vehicles, modernization of self-propelled artillery, modernization of tanks and development of modernized PASARS air defence hybrid system.
The Minister also talked to young engineers, who got a job at the Military Technical Institute in mid-April, which significantly strengthened the capacities of the Institute.

- I am really proud that our Military Technical Institute is living a different life today, that it is hiring new engineers, young people, and that it is planning for that aspect of its future as well. Today, they are working together with their older colleagues on the development of turrets, guns, electronics, armoured bodies and everything else that is an integral part of the armaments presented today - said Stefanović.

He said he was proud of the Military Technical Institute’s personnel and thanked them for their tremendous work and sacrifice.
  - There is no respite for them, no summer, no high temperatures, they do their job diligently and devotedly. I am also glad that we have new energy today, which guarantees that our military has a bright future in terms of modern weapons and that it will certainly be a leader in this region - said Stefanović.
