Minister Stefanović visits Army Training Centre
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited the Army Training Centre where he got acquainted with the situation in that unit and the quality of training for military volunteers, Reserve Officers Course and Basic NCO Course participants and additional training for professional soldiers.
Stefanović thanked the young military volunteers for deciding on this patriotic act, which meant a lot for both our Armed Forces and Serbia, and he praised the members of SAF units for their exceptional proficiency and training.
In addition to the Minister of Defence, the demonstration of infantry, artillery, armoured corps, engineer, scout and military police training in the "General Pavle Jurišić Šturm" barracks in Požarevac was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović and the Army Training Centre Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Duško Jović.
After the demonstration, Minister Stefanović commended the soldiers and their instructors, especially the military volunteers of the March and June classes whose specialist training started less than three weeks ago.
– I watched your exercise and I can tell you, as someone who has served in the military, that your being able to acquire such skills in such a short time is really impressive, especially since you are encountering some of these weapons for the first time. I want to thank you for deciding to volunteer for military service, because it is a truly patriotic act that means a lot to both our Armed Forces and Serbia. If you decide to join SAF units and become professional soldiers, we will be honoured to have such people in our ranks - Stefanović said.
According to him, all members of SAF units who have participated in the demonstration, and who are undergoing additional training for new ranks, have shown a high level of proficiency and self-confidence.
– Exceptional competence and precision in the field could be seen today, and we hope that you will soon join the units with higher ranks. Congratulations to the entire Training Command staff, it is evident that you are making great efforts to provide these people with thorough knowledge. Our country is progressing and becoming economically stronger, and we will provide even better equipment, weapons and salaries for soldiers. We will work even harder to make all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces feel that the government takes care of them and is proud of them - said Stefanović.
As a sign of gratitude for the support, the Army Training Centre Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Duško, presented Minister Stefanović with the Army Training Centre plaque.
During the visit, the Minister also visited the Army Training Centre’s Memorial Room, where the COs of this unit presented to him a part of the glorious military history of the Braničevo region.
