Minister Stefanović observes preparations for International Army Games

Today, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović have visited members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade’s "Griffins" battalion, who are preparing at the Orešac training ground for participation in "Sniper Frontier”, one of the prestigious International Army Games disciplines.
Stefanović said he was glad to see how well-trained and ready they were to defend Serbia’s national colours at the upcoming competition.

- I was happy to see how dedicated these people are. They have been training, practicing and preparing for months to represent the Republic of Serbia in this very complex discipline, which is not just simple sniping, but requires the most thorough psychophysical preparation," Minister Stefanović says, adding that this demanding discipline shows what makes a member of the 72nd Special Brigade so special.

The Minister of Defence also noted that members of this brigade were ready to put their lives at the service of the homeland at any moment.
  - These are the people who have always been there in the most difficult situations, who are still ready to protect their people. Thanks to them, Serbia is a strong and resolute country, capable of making decisions in the interest of its citizens, because it knows that it has the support of the strong Serbian Armed Forces - Stefanović said, wishing them a lot of success in the upcoming competition.

On this occasion, he thanked the Chief of the General Staff, General Mojsilović, and the Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, for everything they had done and were doing to make the Serbian Armed Forces the most respectable military in the region and stronger by the day.

At the "Orešac" training ground, the "Griffins" demonstrated their skills in four competitive disciplines: "Sloping Roof", "Ballistic Window", "Uncomfortable Position" and "Precision Shooting", in which Serbian snipers will represent the Serbian Armed Forces at the competition in Belarus from 22 August to 4 September. This year, the "Sniper Frontier" is also specific in that only members of special units compete for medals, which has raised the competition to a higher level.
The Serbian military team will compete in individual and sniper pair contests, speed contests, duels and sniper biathlon. Each segment of the competition is a test of the participants’ skill, endurance and mental strength through various complex tasks and situations.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been participating in the "Sniper Frontier" discipline at the International Army Games since 2018, and so far they have achieved notable results.
