Road reconstruction on Golija Mountain with members of Russian Armed Forces
Members of the Serbian and Russian Armed Forces will be carrying out road reconstruction works on Golija Mountain, in the municipality of Ivanjica, over the next fifteen days, as part of the "Humanitarian Assistance" project.
It is a joint project of the Serbian and Russian engineering units, which is carried out for the first time this year and in which the Second Army Brigade’s 210th Engineer Battalion will participate.
In the first phase of the "Humanitarian Assistance" project, Russian engineers are trained in using SAF’s engineering machines and motor vehicles, followed by the reconstruction of the road on Golija Mountain. The engineers will reconstruct the 13-kilometre-long Dajići - Srednja reka - Sastavci section, damaged during last year's floods, when the Serbian Armed Forces were among the first to respond and provide assistance to the local self-government bodies affected by the floods.
With this project, in addition to strengthening the bilateral military cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, the Serbian Armed Forces will help the local community create normal living and working conditions for locals in this area.
