State Secretary Živković talks to UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Armed Forces Heappey
State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Živković talked today via video-link to the UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey.
State Secretary Živković expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation reached in the field of defence and highlighted Serbia’s commitment to promoting cooperation in the military to military, military educational, military medical and public relations fields. He said that the upcoming joint participation in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) would be the crown of the cooperation so far and an incentive to further improve relations between the two countries.
Mr Heappey presented the newly adopted UK’s Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy which sets out the government's vision for Global Britain until 2030, and national security and foreign policy objectives until 2025. He pointed out the need to participate in multinational operations to help maintain global peace.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić.
