Minister Stefanović visits Dog Training Centre
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited the Dog Training Centre in “Knjaz Mihailo” barracks in Niš where he attended the demonstration of dogs and dog handlers’ skills. He was shown the elements of search dogs and explosive device detection dogs training, as well as overcoming various obstacles.
According to Stefanović, investment in this unit will continue because its members make a significant contribution to the Serbian Armed Forces’ operational capabilities with their knowledge, experience and commitment.
Together with the Training Command Deputy Commander Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović, he visited the veterinary dispensary and dog accommodation, as well as the Centre’s memorial room which keeps alive the memory of the units that were responsible for dog handlers training in this area, as well as service dogs breeding, training and medical care.
The Commander, Major Zdenko Cvijetić, informed the minister about the work of the Dog Training Centre. The Centre offers 13 different courses, including the most complex form of training - a training course for dog handlers and special operations service dogs.
