Minister Stefanović meets with Ambassador of Romania Ms. Davidoiu
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Serbia H.E. Ms. Silvia Davidoiu.
Minister Stefanović wished Ambassador Davidoiu success in her new role and expressed hope that the tradition of friendly relations would continue during her diplomatic service.
He pointed out that Serbia highly appreciated Romania’s principled position and respect for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as continuous, long-term participation of the Romanian Armed Forces in the KFOR mission in Kosovo and Metohija.
Emphasizing joint exercises conducted successfully for years, Stefanović underlined Serbia’s commitment to further promoting cooperation in the field of defence, particularly in the military to military and military–technical fields.
Ambassador Davidoiu said that Romania remained the advocate of the EU enlargement in the Western Balkans and emphasized Romania’s support for Serbia in the EU integration process.
She expressed hope that the two countries would manage to carry out all ongoing projects, but also negotiate new ones in the mutual interest, and said that she was pleased with the level of cooperation achieved in the field of defence and the commitment to intensifying military to military and military-economic cooperation.
