Gun salute fired on Statehood Day

By order of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Guard Battalion fired a 10-volley gun salute from six artillery weapons today from the Sava Plateau in Kalemegdan to mark 15 February, Serbia’s Statehood Day.
The firing of gun salute was attended by Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Petar Cvetković and Guard Commander, Major General Milomir Todorović.

Serbia celebrates Sretenje – Statehood Day in memory of 15 February 1804 when the First Serbian Uprising, led by Grand Leader Karadjordje, started and when in 1835 the Sretenje Constitution, the first modern Constitution of Serbia,  was adopted.
