Minister Stefanović at the work meeting with members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, held a work meeting today with members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia’s Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs. The meeting was held at the Guard Club in Topčider.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Stefanović acquainted members of the Committee with the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces development plans for the coming period and emphasized that our strategic commitment is to continue to strengthen the Serbian Armed Forces. He particularly highlighted the importance of equipping the armed forces with modern combat systems and improving the Serbian Armed Forces members’ standard of living and working conditions.
During their conversation with Minister Stefanović and representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Chairman of the Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs Aleksandar Marković MP and members of the Committee were informed about the current situation in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the possibility of improvement in the coming period.
Members of the Committee had the opportunity to exchange opinions and views with the Minister of Defence regarding the aspects of work of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces, and to get acquainted with envisaged projects and investments. They pointed out that they will advocate even stronger and better equipped armed forces in their future work, but also the improvement of their members’ financial status through further economic growth and a stable and more secure Serbia.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Živković and Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Milica Ćatić also attended the meeting.
