Minister Stefanović visits General Staff



The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and the Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces today. Stefanović was welcomed by the Chief of the General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović and his Board members, with the Guard of Honour lined up.
 
As part of the first visit to the General Staff from the newly appointed Minister of Defence, a meeting was held in which the Chief of the General Staff presented the organization and basic tasks of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the officers in key management and command positions in our military.
  General Mojsilović informed Minister Stefanović that operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces are at a high level, that the situation is stable and that the execution of missions and tasks assigned to the Serbian Armed Forces is ensured.
 
On behalf of the Serbian Armed Forces and on his own behalf, General Mojsilović wished Minister Stefanović success in his new role.
 
Minister Stefanović thanked General Mojsilović and members of the Board of the Chief of the General Staff for a warm welcome.  
 
- I am deeply honoured to be able to manage a system such as the Ministry of Defence and to be able to help the Serbian Armed Forces be even better equipped, in an even better state, and of course, to justify the trust of President Vučić who is the supreme commander of our armed forces – Minister Stefanović pointed out.
  According to him, it is very important that armed forces be additionally equipped in the next period, that we invest money and enhance all capabilities of the armed forces.  
 
- It is important that we improve their combat readiness, their peacetime capabilities and that Serbian Armed Forces continue being the guarantor of security and stability in our region and our country even more efficiently – the Minister of Defence said. As he stated, he was honoured to have had the opportunity to get acquainted with the most important roles of the Serbian Armed forces at today's meeting and to be able to help the Serbian Armed Forces, by working hard every day, become even better equipped and stronger in the next period.
 
- I am glad that we can work together so that the citizens of Serbia can feel safer and more secure every day – Minister Stefanović emphasized.
