Minister Vulin visits Second Army Brigade
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today members of the Second Army Brigade in the “Ribnica” barracks in Kraljevo, where the commander of that unit, Brigadier General Željko Kuzmanović presented him with the Plaque of the Second Army Brigade, as a sign of gratitude for his support in developing and equipping the unit as well as for successful cooperation over the past years.
During the visit, the Minister was shown the weapons and military equipment that the members of the Second Army Brigade use for execution of their regular tasks, as well as engineer equipment donated by the People’s Republic of China which is widely used in the military but also in providing assistance to civilian population affected by natural disasters.- The Second Army Brigade has made an enormous contribution to the fight against Covid-19. Had it not been for the Second Army Brigade, our doctors from the Military Medical Academy would not have been so successful and efficient as the entire military health care was during the fight against Covid-19 in Novi Pazar and Sjenica – Minister Vulin pointed out after the visit.
Members of the Second Army Brigade proved their worth during the exercise “Joint Action 2020”, the Minister of Defence pointed out, but also when the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić ordered the military into full combat readiness when the Shiptars’ provocations almost caused conflicts in Kosovo and Metohija.
- Members of the Second Army Brigade took on most of the burden and were ready to defend their country and their people regardless of who posed a threat for them. In those moments none of them refused to carry out their tasks. People interrupted their holidays and came back to their units even when we did not call them. Members of the Second Brigade maintain order and peace and protect our way of life in this area. As long as they are this trained and equipped, as long as their combat readiness is improving, as long as we are strengthening their engineer corps and providing them with better personal equipment and as long as we are protecting all these people, we can be sure that peace in this region will be long-lasting and preserved – Minister Vulin said.Besides the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, the Deputy Army Commander, Brigadier General Vladeta Baltić, also visited members of the Second Army Brigade.
