CBRN Service Day marked
Members of the CBRN Training Centre and the 246th CBRN Battalion marked the Day of the CBRN Service of the Serbian Armed Forces in the “Car Lazar” barracks in Kruševac.
At the beginning, a minute's silence was observed for the pilots of the Air Force and Air Defence who died in the plane crash and the deceased members of the CBRN service.
Commander of the CBRN Training Centre, Colonel Sibin Dinčić, greeted the guests, pointing out that the past year was mainly characterised by the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. He also said that since the state of emergency was declared in Serbia, members of the Centre and the 246th CBRN Battalion have been continuously engaged in the disinfection of the facilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, facilities and institutions in cities and municipalities, temporary accommodation centres, hospitals and Covid hospitals, streets and public areas throughout Serbia.
On the occasion of the CBRN Service Day, the most successful members of the CBRN Centre and the 246th Battalion received awards.
The CBRN Service Day is marked in remembrance of 28 September 1938, when, by the Decree of the Minister of the Army and Navy of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the forming of the Gunpowder Battalion, the first CBRN unit, began in Kruševac.
