Minister Vulin: Serbian Armed Forces are constantly developing and strengthening

The Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković attended firing from PASARS and Pantsir S1artillery-missile systems carried out by the members of the Third Missile Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade at the military complex “Pasuljanske livade”.
After the firing, Minister Vulin pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces prepare, exercise and train every day and use their new weapons, such as one of the most modern air defence systems – Pantsir, but also a domestically produced system – PASARS.

- We are preparing and exercising, and that is what the armed forces do, but what you saw today is of special importance to us, because this is the first time Pantsir has engaged ground targets and the first time the zero series of PASARS has engaged air targets. Also, this is a part of our preparations for the big exercise that will be carried out in October where we will show all the capabilities that the Serbian Armed Forces have managed to acquire so far - Minister Vulin emphasized.

According to the Minister of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces are constantly preparing and training.
The firing at Pasuljanske livade was also attended by the Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Duško Žarković, Deputy Army Commander, Brigadier General Vladeta Baltić, Head of the Development and Equipping Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Milan Popović, and the Commander of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, Brigadier General Tiosav Janković.

The PASARS anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery-missile system is designed to provide protection to Army units of the Serbian Armed Forces, primarily armoured mechanized and artillery-missile units during combat operations, as well as the protection of important facilities and installations against air attacks. This system is effective in the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles, attack helicopters, cruise missiles, low-flying aircraft, as well as for engaging targets on the ground and water. The Military Technical Institute is in charge of the development of the PASARS complex combat system and the process of modernization of the PASARS system, which should be the backbone of the defence of the Army units, significantly contributes to enhancing the operational capabilities of our armed forces.
The Pancir S1 anti-aircraft artillery-missile system is designed to provide protection to important facilities against air attacks and reconnaissance, as well as to air defence units and weapons. The procurement of this modern medium-range artillery-missile system and the modernization of the missile systems in use have significantly enhanced the operational capabilities of the Air Defence, which is the guarantor of safety and protection of our skies and army units against air attacks.
