Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, attends the “Defence 78” exhibition
Today, during his official visit to Belgrade, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, visited the “Defence 78” exhibition of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces together with the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, in the Belgrade City Museum.
Original exhibits, personal items and photographs of the soldiers and policemen who fought for the freedom of their homeland, printed, audio and video materials, left an impression on Minister Lavrov, who wrote the following in the guestbook:
“We will not forget the NATO aggression against Yugoslavia. We bow down before the victims of that crime.
Russia and Serbia continue to fight against the interference in the internal issues of sovereign countries, against illegal use of force, and for strict observance of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law”.
The “Defence 78” exhibition by Dušan Jovanović is a unique signpost for the interpretation of the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia, which started with the attack on 24 March 1999, without the approval of the United Nations Security Council.
The exhibition, which vividly evokes the memories of the NATO aggression, was staged with the support of the Military Museum and the Belgrade Aviation Museum, and the units of the Serbian Armed forces made an invaluable contribution as well.
