The assessment of readiness for the ceremony of handing over military flags to the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade
The Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, attended today an assessment of readiness for the military flags handover ceremony on the occasion of establishing the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade which will be held on Sunday, 14 June 2020, at the "Second Serbian Uprising" Memorial Complex in Takovo.
Minister Vulin and General Mojsilović had the opportunity to make sure that everything is ready for the upcoming ceremony, for which the participants have been practicing intensively under the watchful eye of the Ceremony Commander and wartime Commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, Major General Ilija Todorov.
The flag of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade will be handed over to the commander of the unit, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, who was the wartime Deputy Commander of the “Sokolovi” (Hawks) Counter-Terrorist Battalion. The flag of the 63rd Parachute Brigade will be handed over to its commander, Colonel Nenad Zonić, a former member of the wartime Command of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.
The ceremony in the memorial complex in Takovo will be marked by a parade of 20 sub-echelons of members and veterans of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade, and the spectators will also be able to see parade flights of the Serbian Armed Forces’ aircraft, parachute jumps, as well as weapons and military equipment demonstration.
Citizens will have the opportunity to watch live broadcast of the ceremony on Channel 1 of the Radio Television of Serbia, starting at 11 am.
