The March generation of soldiers successfully fired from 64 mm M80 hand-held rocket launchers
Today, the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, attended the preparatory firing from the 64 mm M80 hand-held rocket launchers, which is being carried out at the "Peskovi" Military Complex near Požarevac, by the "March 2020" generation of soldiers serving voluntary military service at the Training Command’s Second Training Centre.
The commander of the Centre, Colonel Zoran Smiljanić, briefed the Minister of Defence on the purpose, tasks and training carried out by the Second Training Centre.
During the visit, Minister Vulin saw the professional competence of the March generation of soldiers, their high motivation to perform tasks, and assessed the firing from 64 mm M80 hand-held rocket launchers as very good. Minister Vulin congratulated the soldiers of the March generation, who especially excelled in providing assistance in the fight against the coronavirus, on receiving an early promotion to a higher rank, by order of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, and at the suggestion of the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.
Speaking about the promotion, Minister Vulin emphasized that it is just one of the ways to thank the soldiers and show how much we value their work. According to the Commander of the Second Training Centre, Colonel Zoran Smiljanić, this year's March generation of soldiers is one of the best.
- Soldiers are motivated for training. They showed exceptional results and commitment in the previous period, participating in setting up hospitals in Belgrade. It is one of the best generations of soldiers. This period has made them more serious in all respects, including training, human characteristics and quality - Colonel Smiljanić points out.
The training Lance Corporal Bojana Stanisavljević from Ćuprija is undergoing is a new experience for she and she would recommend everyone to join the Serbian Armed Forces.
- The motives for joining the military were her love for the homeland, our history and respect for our ancestors. There are 13 girls in our company and we try to show every day that women can be as successful in the military as men - said Lance Corporal Stanisavljević, adding that all the soldiers in training get along well, try to help each other and hold together.
Lance Corporal Ilija Marković, a resident of the Loznica area, has similar motives for joining the military. As he says, he hopes that after completing his military service, he will be employed in the Serbian Armed Forces.
- I would like to single out tactical training, which was the most interesting for me personally. I would recommend to all young people who want to try and learn what order, work and discipline are to enlist in the Serbian Armed Forces - said Lance Corporal Marković.
Today's firing at the "Peskovi" range was also attended by the Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojević, and the Commander of the Army Training Centre, Colonel Milovan Vasić.
