Minister Vulin: The support and assistance of Russian military experts mean a lot to us

- Members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have carried out 84 different decontamination tasks so far, and medical teams made 103 visits, shared with us their expertise, and very often stood in for our doctors working on respirators, thus helping patients to feel better and our doctors to rest - said the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, who, accompanied by Major General Mikhail Cernyshov, visited the “General Pavle Jurišić Šturm” barracks in Požarevac, where the disinfection was carried out today. The disinfection was carried out jointly by mobile CBRN teams of the Serbian Armed Forces and military experts of the NBC units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation engaged in implementing measures aimed at preventing the spread of the Covid-19 viral infection.

- Their support and help mean a lot to us, as well as the experiences they have shared with us, and they also give us a great example of how hard-working, dedicated and patient they are, and that there are no unsolvable tasks for them. The Serbian Armed Forces do not lag behind, and there are no unsolvable tasks for them either, and we are here to serve our people. With such a military, Serbia can be peaceful - Minister Vulin concluded.

Speaking about the joint engagement, Major General Mikhail Chernyshov, who heads the expert teams of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, pointed out that members of the two armies did their job excellently.

- We, Russians, are aware of our capacities, resources and capabilities, but today we have seen that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are excellent experts and that they do their jobs well - General Chernyshov emphasized, adding that the engagement of units in performing all tasks will continue in the coming period. General Chernyshov especially thanked the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, since the proposal of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the engagement of NBC units was approved in a very short time, and expressed his confidence that this job will be done successfully as well.

The barracks in Požarevac was also visited today by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković, Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojević, Assistant Minister for Defence Policy, Milan Ranković, and the Commander of the Army Training Centre, Colonel Milovan Vasić.
