The Minister of Defence at the General Staff on Easter: The Serbian Armed Forces have shown that they are a great support to their country
Today, on Easter, the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, where, after meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, he made sure that the Serbian Armed Forces are carrying out all their planned tasks.
After the briefing, Minister Vulin emphasized that all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are still on their duties and they are protecting our country, whether by fighting Covid-19, or being in the Ground Security Zone, or guarding our skies or our border.
- All members of the Serbian Armed Forces in peacekeeping missions around the world are well; they are all healthy and perform their regular duties. All our members in the Ground Security Zone are ready, capable, healthy and performing all their duties - said Minister Vulin.
Minister Vulin pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces have shown that they are a strong support to their country in these difficult times and that there is no free, sovereign and prosperous country without a strong, trained and prepared military.
- I wish all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces and all Orthodox believers a happy Easter; I wish them to celebrate it happily, in good health and thinking about Serbs no matter where they live. I wish all Serbs in Republika Srpska, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, our dear Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, wherever Serbs live, to spend this holiday in good health, with their families and to be sure that their Serbia always thinks of them. Wherever you are, whatever you do, our dear Serbs, we are there for you. Christ is risen! - Minister Vulin said.
Chief of the General Staff, General Mojsilović pointed out that the Minister of Defence was briefed today at the General Staff on the situation regarding the fight against Covid-19 and the situation in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and in the units.
- Today we took the opportunity to speak to our representatives in multinational operations. According to the reports received, the situation is regular, the health status of our members is good, stable and under control. Considering everything that the Serbian Armed Forces have been doing in the last month and a half, we can conclude that we fully control the health status of our members in the Serbian Armed Forces and the situation in our territory regarding the tasks assigned to the Serbian Armed Forces. I wish all members of the Serbian Armed Forces and all citizens of the Republic of Serbia a happy Easter, the most joyous holiday, with the traditional Serbian greeting "Christ is risen" - General Mojsilovic said.
During today's briefing, the Serbian Armed Forces Command Team reported to the Minister of Defence on the measures taken and the engagement of the military in supporting civilian authorities in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
The reports were also presented via video link by senior national representatives from peacekeeping missions where members of the Serbian Armed Forces are engaged, informing the Minister of Defence that the situation is regular, that the people are carrying out all defined tasks and that all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces engaged in those peacekeeping missions are safe.
