The engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces in the state of emergency
Based on the decision to introduce a state of emergency throughout Serbia declared by the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, made decisions and issued orders from their jurisdiction to engage members of the Serbian Armed Forces to support civilian authorities in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus infection.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will be engaged in guarding and providing security control to public facilities on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. They will also be engaged in securing the hospitals where the potentially infected by the coronavirus are being supervised and the sick are being treated, as well as at border crossings, in order to assist the competent state authorities in controlling the crossing of border.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will also be engaged in the locations where it is estimated that there is an increased movement of people during regular activities, in the places such as bus and train stations, airports, post offices and similar facilities.
The Serbian Armed Forces will carry out all their tasks and take all necessary protective measures against the COVID-19 virus infection in accordance with the recommendations of the competent services.
The Serbian Armed Forces are ready to carry out all the tasks they receive in order to protect the state and citizens in the state of emergency in the Republic of Serbia.
