Meeting of Minister Vulin with State Secretary of Belarusian Security Council General Ravkov
Today, Minister Vulin met State Secretary of Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant General Andrei Ravkov.
Minister Vulin congratulated General Ravkov on his appointment to the highest duty that Belarusian officer can perform and thanked him for the strong development of cooperation during his term in office as minister of defence of the Republic of Belarus, to which he undoubtedly had given his personal mark.
State Secretary Ravkov confirmed the exceptionally successful cooperation with Minister Vulin in their joint efforts to advance the cooperation between the two armed forces and overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Belarus that are characterised by traditional friendship. He accorded recognition to the Republic of Serbia for pursuing autonomous and independent policy in the region which was exposed to significant challenges and threats. State Secretary Ravkov underlined that on his new duty he would give full contribution to strengthening relations of the two states, particularly in the field of defence and initiate a new form of cooperation of exchanging experts in the field of security.
- Andrei Ravkov is the first man of the overall security of the Republic of Belarus. Andrei Ravkov is a good friend of Serbia, he is well familiar with Serbia, and he was my guest in Belgrade as the minister of defence – Minister Vulin stated after the meeting with General Ravkov.
- Andrei Ravkov is a man who fully understands the problems that burden our region. I have pointed out to what extent the Serbian people is threatened in numerous spheres, to what extent its cultural and religious rights are jeopardised in Montenegro, to what extent the Dayton Treaty is infringed and its very existence in the Republic of Srpska and how dangerous for us is the attempt at creating so-called “Armed Forces of Kosovo” and the attempts to make the Serbs serve in that false military or to be incarcerated or expelled for that. State Secretary Ravkov understands the position of Serbia very well, and he highly appreciates and respects our position of military neutrality and our orientation towards continuing to behave in such manner and he will continue giving his personal contribution to development of our cooperation – Minister Vulin stressed.
Relations between President Lukashenko and President Vučić – Minister Vulin emphasised – oblige all state leaders of both Republic of Belarus and Republic of Serbia to cooperate well and enhance that cooperation.
- Here, we are among friends. Here, we are among people who understand us and who will considerably support the continuation of our military technical cooperation. Here, we are among the people who say with great pride that we are the country with which after Russia they have the greatest number of joint activities. Last year we had 34 joint activities and this year 39. State Secretary Ravkov is very proud because of it, and I am proud as well because I can say that a country such as Belarus is a reliable and sure friend of our country – Minister Vulin stated.
