10th Memorial “Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ostojić” Held at the Military Academy
The Tenth memorial savate and kickboxing tournament “Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ostojić” was held at the Military Academy. The tournament is organised in honour of Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ostojić who heroically gave his life defending his country in 1998.
The Military Academy hosted the 10th tournament in collaboration with Savate Club “Goran Ostojić”, while the patron of the tournament was City Secretariat for Sports and Youth. The competition included cadets of the Military Academy who displayed superb knowledge and skills, and exhibited competitive spirit.The sporting competition was attended by Head of the Military Academy Major General Bojan Zrnić PhD, representatives of sport organisations, clubs, and representatives of Association of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.
The competition gathered savate clubs “Goran Ostojić”, Pobednik Beograd and Stari Grad, and savate boxing club Beograd, kickboxing club Novi Beograd, sport club Petros and martial sports clubs from Grocka and klub Pala.Winners of numerous medals at national and international savate and kickboxing competitions participated in the tournament, as well as athletes in all competition categories – from juniors to senior Serbian national team members in both sports.
The memorial savate and kickboxing tournament “Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ostojić” does not have an official winner, since the winners are all participants of the competition which is held in memory of Lieutenant Colonel Ostojić.
