Minister Vulin: New domestically produced ballistic equipment for members of “Kobre”
- Special purpose Military Police Battalion “Kobre” is certainly at the very top of our armed forces, but not only of our armed forces. The members of the battalion are equipped with all state-of-the-art equipment that defence industry can offer. I am especially proud with the fact that all their protective equipment and their uniforms are produced by our intelligence, and our national knowledge. These are the people chosen in accordance with special principle, special criteria. They are maximally dedicated to their work, and maximally dedicated to their country and their profession, and dedicated to their armed forces – stressed Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, who, accompanied by Deputy Head of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Major General Petar Cvetković, attended today the presentation of new protective ballistic equipment of the Special purpose Military Police Battalion “Kobre”.
Minister Vulin pointed out that the Ministry of Defence did everything to equip the members of “Kobre” according to the highest world criteria, so that they could not be ashamed in the face of any other similar unit of the world, and that everything was done to enhance their financial status as well, and to finalise the process of advancement of their technical requirements with continuous development.
- These people love their job, they love their armed forces, and they are here to protect Serbia and to be capable every time of responding to the most complex tasks so that all of us can be proud of them just like they are proud of their country – Minister Vulin stated.
According to Commander of Special purpose Military Police battalion “Kobre” Lieutenant Colonel Goran Colić, “Kobre” Battalion was equipped in the previous period with protective ballistic equipment in the framework of procurement of new arms and equipment for the Serbian Armed Forces.
- The minister of defence had an opportunity today during his tour to see at first hand the functionality and quality of the equipment procured. By the way, that equipment is domestically produced, and provides supreme protection of our members. In the world, units of similar purpose use the same equipment – Lieutenant Colonel Colić underlined adding that the members of the unit were satisfied with the quality of the equipment.
As Commander of “Kobre” Lieutenant Colonel Colić underscored, the minister of defence and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces were providing an exceptional contribution to provision of equipment and improvement of standard of the unit members.
A set of protective ballistic equipment includes a protective ballistic vest, ballistic plates holder, ballistic protective helmet, protectors for knees and elbows, belt with holders for all elements of arms and equipment, ballistic protective glasses and gloves.
Today’s visit to Belgrade barracks “General Jovan Mišković” was also attended by Dean of University of Defence Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, Head of Military Academy Major General Bojan Zrnić and Head of Military Police Department of General Staff Brigadier General Rajko Milovanović
