Training in off-road vehicle driving completed

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces preparing to participate in multinational operations have completed training in the off-road motor vehicles handling at the “Beranovac” motor vehicle training grounds, in the Battalion for training of the traffic service in Kraljevo.

The four-day training included driving in complex off-road conditions and driving in public traffic and was implemented using Land rover Defender and PUH motor vehicles.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Goran Dobrić, commander of the Transport Service Training Battalion, in the initial training phase, the instructors gained insight into the candidates’ driving skills, after which the candidates proceeded to the training ground meeting United Nations Motor Vehicle Management Annex C standards.
An instructor in the Transportation Training Battalion from the Logistics Training Center, Senior First Class Sergeant Vedran Žgela emphasized that candidates first grasp the characteristics of the vehicle, then selection is performed based on their driving skills, and finally, candidates take the final exam.

Lieutenant Colonel Tomislav Gogić, a member of the contingent due for a multinational operation, emphasized that the training was an opportunity for candidates to learn from highly experienced instructors in order to successfully accomplish their tasks in international mission and to best represent the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces.

The field training ground was built 10 years ago based on the experiences of members of the military who participated in various peacekeeping missions.
