Lecture Given by Minister Dačić at the National Defence School
The First Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić held a lecture today on the topic “Role of Diplomacy in the Protection of National Interests of the Republic of Serbia” to attenders of National Defence School in the lecture theatre of Department for Simulations and Distance Learning of the Military Academy.
The lecture was attended by Dean of University of Defence Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović PhD, Head of the Military Academy Major General Bojan Zrnić, Head of National Defence School Colonel Mićo Suvajac, Director of Strategic Research Institute Jovanka Šaranović PhD, attenders of General Staff and Command-Staff Course and commanding officers and lecturers.
At the beginning of the address, Minister Dačić underlined that the gathering was a confirmation of continuation of successful cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, which is carried out in the spirit of partnership and solidarity in numerous tasks of implanting the state policy.
During the lecture Minister Dačić looked back on foreign policy priorities and presented national interests which are closely connected to protection of national security of the Republic of Serbia, with the focus on defence aspects, founded on military neutrality and preserving peace and stability in the region and world. Speaking about general priorities and goals, Minister Dačić highlighted the importance of cooperation and partnership of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces with other countries and organisations, particularly stressing the significance of participation of members of Serbian Armed Forces in multinational operations.
