Minister Vulin: The Serbian Armed Forces are the guardian of the most important values of our people
The Serbian Armed Forces are the guardian of the best and most important values of our people – stated Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, visiting today the stand of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces at the Eight International Sports Fair.
- The Serbian Armed Forces are not some institution detached from the people. The Serbian Armed Forces are a part of our people and guardian of the most important values of our people. Healthy life, sports, family, physical activity are everything that connects us and makes us healthy, and it is all highly appreciated in the Serbian Armed Forces. Each member of the Serbian Armed Forces is obliged to be physically fit, and be capable of executing every task – said Minister Vulin.
A lot attention is paid in the Serbian Armed Forces to physical fitness and sport activities – Minister Vulin underlined, adding that the armed forces do everything so that each of their members could practice sports even to a professional level.- That is the reason why we have established this year a Sports Unit and after many years, we participate in all world military competitions, but we also have national representatives in certain sports who are members of the Serbian Armed Forces. All who come to the Serbian Armed Forces can be certain that they will be able to advance and improve their skills, and make themselves as athletes as well – Minister Vulin emphasised.
At the stand of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, Minister Vulin was greeted by Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić and President of Serbian Sports Association Davor Štefanek, with whom he toured the presentation of sports clubs of the University of Defence of futsal, basketball and volleyball, with participation of cadets of the Military Academy and pupils of the Military Grammar School and Military Vocational High School.
Acting Head of Division for Military Sports of the Military Academy Colonel Slađan Veljković stated that the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces promoted sport activities of the armed forces at the Fair for the second year in a row.- This year, the Serbian Armed Forces promote sports through demonstration of martial arts of the Special Brigade and Special Purpose Military Police Battalion “Kobre” – which took place yesterday, and through the work of sport clubs of the Military Academy cadets – which is going to be presented today, and through a lecture on sports in the Military Academy which is also going to take place today – Colonel Veljković highlighted and announced that the visitors of the Fair would have an opportunity at the stand of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces to talk to supreme athletes of our country, who are also members of the Sport Unit of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Today’s visit to the Sports Fair was also attended by Head of the Military Academy Major General Bojan Zrnić.
