The Republic of Korea Donated Medical Equipment to the MMA in the Value of 200,000 US Dollars
A signing ceremony of the Protocol on Donation of medical equipment of the Republic of Korea to the Military Medical Academy was held today in the presence of the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin. The Protocol was signed by the Head of the Military Medical Academy Colonel Miroslav Vukosavljević MD and the Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Belgrade Ji Won Seol.
The Protocol signing at the Military Medical Academy was also attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Major General Petar Cvetković, Head of Military Health Department Brigadier General Uglješa Jovičić MD and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Belgrade Hyoung Chan Choe.
Speaking about the significance of the donation, the Head of the Military Medical Academy Colonel Vukosavljević MD, pointed out that it was an important donation of several medical devices, including those which are the most important for diagnostics of malignant tumours – digital mammography machine and portable ultrasound machines.
- It is important to also mention 10 monitors for intensive care wards of which one can never have enough. Our cooperation with the Republic of Korea will be continued through other donations and cooperation, all for the wellbeing of our patients, whether they are civilian of military insured, with more than a half of a million of them who are in procedure of diagnostics – Colonel Vukosavljević said adding that the MMA had patients beyond the borders of our country, and the new devices would contribute to faster diagnostics and improvement of treatment.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Hyoung Chan Choe underlined that the Republic of Korea donated the medical equipment to the Military Medical Academy in the value of some 200 thousand dollars.
- This is a significant year because we are celebrating 30 years of bilateral relations between the two countries, and I am particularly glad that we have realised this donation in this important year, and I wish that the donated devices serve for providing better medical services to the citizens of Serbia – the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Belgrade stressed adding that it was a manner in which the bilateral cooperation of the two countries was deepened and enhanced. After the signing of the Protocol, Miister Vulin and Ambassador Hyoung Chan Choe, with their associates, went to see the donated equipment in the Rheumatology Clinic, Radiology Institute and Urgent internal medicine clinic at the Military Medical Academy, where the medical staff of the MMA informed them about how the donated equipment would help the patients of that military medical health establishment in their further treatment.
The donation encompasses digital mammography machine, portable ultrasound machine, osteodensitometer and 10 monitors for keeping track of patients’ vital functions.
