Plaque of the Endowment of Ilija Kolarac Awarded to the Artistic Ensemble “Stanislav Binički”
Today, a celebration took place in the Great Hall of Kolarac Endowment to mark 141 years of existence of the Endowment of Ilija M Kolarac at which Plaques for contribution to programme activities of Kolarac Endowment were presented as well as Annual Art Gallery Reward.
On that occasion, the Board of Kolarac Endowment presented a plaque to Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binički” for the contribution to programme activities of Kolarac Endowment. On behalf of the Board, the plaque was presented to Head of the Ensemble Commander Svetozar Vasileski by Director Jasna Dimitrijević.
Pursuant to the Statute of the Endowment of Ilija M. Kolarac and upon a proposal of the Gallery Council of the Endowment, the Endowment Board passed a decision to award the Plaque of the Endowment of Ilija M. Kolarac for extraordinary merit to programme activities in 2019 to: Milan Ćirković PhD, Scientific Advisor of Astronomical Observatory in Belgrade, UNESCO Department for Cultural Politics and Management of the University of Arts in Belgrade, Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binički” and Ensemble Renaissance. The Annual Art Gallery Reward was awarded to a visual artist Sejma Ferre for the best exhibition in exhibiting season 2018/2019.Musical part of the programme included the performance of soprano Evgenija Jeremić, accompanied by pianist Sara Abramović. Evgenija Jeremić was the most successful young artist in 2018 according to selection of the Association of Musical Artists of Serbia.
Our Ensemble held its first concert under the name “King’s Guard Orchestra” at Kolarac People’s University only 18 days after its opening, on 22nd February 1932 at an official celebration of marking 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington. On that occasion the orchestra was led by Dragutin Pokorni.
