Minister Vulin: Serbian Armed Forces growing stronger by the day
Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, visited today the training and shooting carried out by units of the Serbian Armed Forces using BRDM-2MS armored reconnaissance vehicles at the “Pasuljanske livade“ Military Complex.
According to Minister Vulin, thanks to the agreement between the two presidents and the Supreme Commanders of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, Aleksandar Vučić and Vladimir Putin, the Serbian Armed Forces are equipping and growing stronger.
The Head of the Planning and Development Department of the Land Forces Command, Colonel Vladan Milosavljević, said that after the successful completion of the first part of the task – equipping the Armored Reconnaissance Battalion with the BRDM-2MS armored reconnaissance vehicle has marked the beginning of the second phase of training, reflected in the proper and safe handling of this vehicle.
Private First Class Igor Aleksić of 30 Command Battalion was genuinely thrilled for having mastered managing the new vehicle. He emphasized that, compared to the old BRDM, the new one is much easier to manage and operate.
Training and shooting using armored reconnaissance vehicles, which have recently arrived in Serbia as a donation from the Russian Federation, is being carried out since 9 September at the “Mija Stanimirović “, “Stevan Sinđelić” and “Knjaz Mihailo” barracks in Niš, at the “Rujnik” training grounds and at the “Pasuljanske livade“ Military Complex.
Today’s visit was also attended by the Commander of the Land Forces, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Chief of the Directorate for Operational Affairs of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Želimir Glišović, Chief of the Directorate for Intelligence and Reconnaissance Affairs of the General Staff, Brigadier General Miroljub Čupić and Commander of the First Brigade of the Land Forces, Brigadier General Zoran Nasković.
