Minister Vulin: Reserve force highly motivated for training

Today, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has visited soldiers over 30 years of age on training in the reserve force in the 2nd Training Centre at the Valjevo-based ‘Vojvoda Živojin Mišić’ barracks.

The minister of defence, accompanied by Colonel Zoran Cvetković, Deputy Commander of the Centre, attended the tactical training.

Minister Vulin, after speaking with soldiers about the training, and with the commanding staff, pointed out that there is no all-volunteer force capable of protecting its own country alone and that is why there is a reserve force.

- I am very pleased with the May class of reservists who have shown that they are highly motivated and how much they care about their country, and who have responded in the largest number so far. Here are the people who, in the first place, are ready to learn, who want to learn and who are willing to leave their families and their jobs for a short time and serve their country and their people – Minister Vulin emphasised.

- The savage attempt of intrusion by Pristina to the north of Kosovo and Metohija only reminds us that our reserve is necessary and that each of us must be ready to defend our country if that happens. The politics will do everything to never get to the conflict, but we must be ready to respond to anyone who tries to endanger our country – Minister Vulin said.

The defence minister pointed out that soldiers on reserve training are preparing to defend their country and added that he was proud of them.

- They achieve very good results, they work very hard, they perform all their duties in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces and the way the superiors ordered them, and above all, they feel love for their country. We will continue with such a policy in the coming years, the reserve will be stronger and more numerous – Minister Vulin concluded.

Second Lieutenant Milena Đokić, serving as platoon leader, was among those who conducted training for soldiers at the infantry obstacle course in the Valjevo-based barracks, today.

- It has been the third week already that they are here and according to the programme, today, they practised tactical training for the actions of soldiers in combat, in the attack day and night. As regards their efforts, not only today, but also during the previous three weeks, they are at a very high level. They did not show dissatisfaction, indiscipline at any moment and they were always ready to do whatever they were ordered to do, and whatever they were supposed to do according to the training programme – Lieutenant Đokić emphasised, adding that this experience is important and that it will be significant to them in their future life.

In the May class of persons on training in reserve force at the Valjevo-based 2nd Training Centre, there is also soldier Nenad Stojanović of Kragujevac, who has got PhD in Mathematics and is employed at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Kragujevac. He rated the life and work during the training, in the manner of his profession, with the highest grade 10.

- I would like to single out, above all discipline, professional commanding staff and I think that some unforgettable comradeship and friendships are gained here, Nenad emphasized, adding that he is very satisfied with the conditions of life and work during the training.

Vojnik Malić Salihagić from Sjenica, a lawyer by profession, is also going through 14-day training at the barracks in Valjevo, and he is very satisfied with the training and new experience he had not had the opportunity to acquire yet, because he knew about the military days only from the stories of the elderly ones who served the conscript service.

- Now I had the opportunity to see it firsthand. “Although I thought differently about this, I now see that this is a well-organised system that works”, Malić said, expressing his satisfaction and gratitude that, during the training, as a Bosniak, now at the time of the Ramadan fasting, special nutrition and meal time were provided.

Out of the total number of persons over 30 who were called up in May this year as reserve force, there is higher response than expected, so that in the Centre in Sombor there are currently104 persons trained, in the 2nd Centre in Valjevo - 90, and in the 3rd Centre in Leskovac 97 persons are on training.
