First cups to Karađorđevo horse farm
On the second day of the Serbian Armed Forces Cup, an event that takes place in Karađorđevo, an exhibition of stallions of Arab and Lipizzaner horse breed was organized, followed by a review competition of pair or four-in-hand drivers.
Mayor of the Municipal Assembly of Bačka Palanka, Mita Lačanski, welcomed the hosts, competitors and guests and wished them a pleasant stay on the reconstructed hippodrome of Karađorđevo horse farm.
“Twelve years later, we are in the position today to be on this beautiful hippodrome, which was known in the past not only within the SFRY borders, but also in the neighbourhood. Today, I wish to thank everyone who gave their contribution to renew and enjoy the horse races that begin with this event. In Bačka Palanka we got another tourist event which, I hope, will be interesting in the time to come for both people from our country and those from all over the world - Lačanski said.El Mačo horse owned by Dejan Konstadinović, is the winner of the exhibition of the purebred stallions of Arab breed, while in the competition of Lipizzaner horse breed the winner is Siglavi Zora 40 from Karađorđevo horse farm. The third place was won by Konverzano Drava 14 horse from the same horse farm.
The cups were handed out to owners of the horses by Miroslav Blagojević, Director of the Morović Military Establishment.
The jury was composed of: Prof. Dragisa Trailović from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Belgrade, president of the jury, Ivica Bogadi, international judge for equestrian sports from Osijek, Ljubiša Aleksić, national judge from Valjevo and Draža Makević from Šabac. They evaluated: exterior of the horse with all the elements, temperament, obedience and walking. At the end of this competition day, review competitions were held in the category of pair, four-in-hand and children-driven pair of horses. Children from the Centre for Traditional Culture and Art “Abrašević” from Bačka Palanka performed in the cultural and artistic programme.
