Minister Vulin: The Serbian Armed Forces takes care of its personnel

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, in the presence of General Ljubiša Diković, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, handed over keys of 23 apartments to active and retired members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces in Great War Room of the Old General Staff, today.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin pointed out that, since July last year until now, the Serbian Armed Forces has solved housing issues for 1,214 of its members through subsidized loans and provision of apartments.

- The Serbian Armed Forces is taking care about the standards of its members and it will always take care for all its members regardless of whether they are in active composition or are pensioners. For us, there are no differences. Every member of the Serbian Armed Forces knows that the Serbian Armed Forces will take care of them, from the moment when they become members of the Armed Forces, when they enter the process of education, and as long as they exist. The Serbian Armed Forces is there to take care of its personnel – Minister Vulin stressed.

According to him, it is about restoring the system, which was planned and deliberately demolished, a system that takes care of its people.

- When you are in the Armed Forces, when you are part of the Armed Forces, you are taken care of to the rest of your life. We are going to take care of you, your needs, your family needs, until the end of our lives.  That is how the responsible army behaves, but that is how the responsible state behaves, because those who dedicate their lives to defence, security and peace for every citizen of our country must know that they are respected, they are appreciated and that their families will be taken care of, the defence minister said.

He also reminded that this autumn the cycle of great mass housing construction activities for members of the security sector will start.

- So, the housing problems of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces will be resolved far faster than ever, but we hope it will be cheaper, and more quality, for sure. The Serbian Armed Forces takes care of its personnel – Minister Vulin said.

Colonel Milan Milovanović, who waited for solving his housing issue for 28 years, was among those who were handed out the keys, and this autumn he will move with his family into a double-room apartment in New Belgrade.

- Today is a special day for members of my family and for myself. After decades of dedicated work in service, the current act of receiving the keys is a personal satisfaction for all efforts and endeavours invested – Colonel Milovanović pointed out.
