Defence Minister meets with Ambassador of the United Kingdom
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has talked today, in Belgrade, with Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Serbia, Denis Keefe, on strengthening and intensifying bilateral military cooperation.
At the meeting, they confirmed the achieved level of cooperation and expressed mutual desire for further cooperation in the field of defence.
- We are committed to continuing the previous successful cooperation, remaining open to exchange of views and constructive talks, in order to further strengthen and intensify bilateral military cooperation, Minister Vulin said.
Speaking about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the Minister of Defence pointed to the importance and necessity to obey the Brussels Agreement and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, which defines that KFOR represents the only guarantor of security, the only armed formation in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, and the only partner to the Serbian Armed Forces in securing the administrative line, thereby emphasising the principled opposition and inadmissibility of forming the so-called Kosovo Armed Forces.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Vulin stressed that the Republic of Serbia is a factor of stability in this part of Europe and has always been firmly committed to solving all possible conflicts and disputes in a dialogue and peaceful manner.
