Minister Vulin: Government invested 620 million in TRZ Čačak

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by Deputy Army Commander Major General Želimir Glišović and Chief of the Logistics Department of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Brigadier General Željko Ninković, has visited today the infrastructure works at the Technical Overhaul Institute in Čačak.

On this occasion, Minister Vulin pointed out that the Government of the Republic of Serbia invested about RSD 620 million in the rehabilitation of TRZ Čačak, and it is rightly considered one of the most important projects in our armed forces.

- The capability of our Armed Forces to repair complex combat systems with its own resources, even to improve them, significantly distinguishes us from other armies and gives us confidence that we can acquire new systems. People who work in TRZ Čačak are people who are dedicated to their business and without which the combat readiness of our Armed Forces would not be at such a high level. The Government of the Republic of Serbia therefore invests significant funds in order to provide the best conditions for employees that work here, but also to create conditions for new employment, especially for staff with higher education. There will also be room for workers in production, but also for a significant number of engineers whose education can be measured with engineers anywhere at global level - Minister Vulin said.

He reminded that it has been for the first time in this Institute, ever since the NATO aggression, that the workers spent winter in warm rooms and the hall was warm for the first time since 1999.

- We will continue to develop our Institute, we will continue to introduce certain organisational changes in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces, that will allow for greater efficiency, better employment, the possibility of repairing a certain materiel in the very units, and that only what is really needed comes here. In this way, we will increase the capacity of our Institute which could thus open up to the market and have opportunity to improve also the material position of its employees by its own work, just as it increases the combat readiness of our Armed Forces by its daily work - Minister Vulin said.

Director of the Technical Overhaul Institute in Čačak, Colonel Srđan Petković, pointed out that the investments of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the facilities of the Institute provide favourable micro-climate conditions for the work of the employees in the Institute.

- That, above all, had an impact on the increase in productivity and functional capabilities of the Institute itself. By improving the microclimate conditions, especially in the winter period, ventilation and air conditioning of facilities, we will increase the number of overhauled assets, and above all, complex combat systems. With the reconstruction of this facility, investments, also of the Government of Serbia of 2017, we will create conditions for the integration of new telecommunication systems and serial production of mobile telecommunication systems m by the Institute – Colonel Petković emphasised
