Investment in the Serbian Armed Forces is an investment in the standard of every citizen
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin with his associates visited today the works that are performed at the Belgrade Military High School Dormitory.
According to Minister Vulin, all the works at the Military High School are carried out properly and he is pleased that our children and our students will be able to attend classes and live in the best possible conditions very soon.
- Military education will continue to develop and our idea is to invest more money and more attention in military education, and this year we will be able to say that we will have a greater number of enrolled students, departments and appropriate courses that we will provide for them and, in that way, we will meet the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces, but not only of the Serbian Armed Forces, because every boy and girl who graduated from the military high school, and of course after that, the Military Academy, is very supportive and helpful to our entire country. Every investment in the Serbian Armed Forces is an investment in the standard of every citizen of this country, the Minister of Defence said.
He emphasized that by raising the quality of life of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, we raise the quality of life of every citizen of this country.
- I wish every parent to know that when they send us their children to the high school or academy, they will be educated, live and work in accordance with the highest possible standards. They will also have the best accommodation, the best food and the best professors and all the opportunities to get quality education, to advance and become proud of their military and their country. We continue to invest; this year we have allocated about 300 million dinars for the Military Academy, for the Military High School - only for this first phase - more than 30 million dinars has been allocated and there will be no shortage of money when it comes to the standard and quality of life of our children, Minister Vulin said.
Rector of the University of Defence, Major General Mladen Vuruna, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of construction and infrastructure works in the Military High School Dormitory.
- Besides the works that are being carried out at the Military Academy, we will very soon have excellent conditions for students of the Military High School and Secondary Vocational Military School, for cadets of the Military Academy and the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy. In addition, we have accredited quality study programmes and with these very good conditions for life and work we provide them with the best possible conditions for education, all for the benefit of our Armed Forces and our state, General Vuruna pointed out.
Today's visit was attended also by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Bojan Jocić, Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Miroslav Talijan, Head of the Military High School, Colonel Miroslav Gvozdenović, and Head of the Department for Infrastructure of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant Colonel Slobodan Starčević.
The works, which are performed on the ground level, include the approaching plateau, arrangement and replacement of carpentry, floor surfaces, sanitary facilities, painting, water and sewage installations, mechanical works and electro-energy works. Also, the reconstruction includes renovation of student rooms, common rooms, restrooms, reading room and the library.
At the end of 2017, the Ministry of Defence started infrastructure works at the Military Academy, which includes renovation of the plateau for the lining up, the Sports Center, pistol range and the interior of the accommodation capacities in order to improve the living and working conditions of cadets and commanding officers at that higher education institution.
