Signing 2018 Bilateral Military Cooperation Ptogramme with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Head of the Department for International Military Cooperation, Colonel Milan Ranković, and Defence Attaché of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Colonel Simon Fitzgibbon, signed the 2018 Bilateral Military Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
At the meeting, it was noted that bilateral military cooperation has been significantly intensified in the past three years. Opinions on modalities and perspectives of defence cooperation in the forthcoming period were exchanged, with particular emphasis on joint training and exercises.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia is commited to continuing the development of military medical, military educational and military-to-military cooperation, as the main areas, Colonel Ranković pointed out and highlighted the importance of exchanging high-level visits to define strategic guidelines and give a special impetus to further enhancement of the bilateral cooperation in the field of defence as a whole.
Colonel Fitzgibbon agreed that the bilateral military cooperation between the two countries has been significantly improved in the previous period, and that it has seen an upward trend both in quantity and in the quality of the executed activities. He conveyed readiness for the continuation of British support to military education at all levels, as well as in the training of instructors of the Serbian Armed Forces members and units for participation in multinational operations.
