Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces with Sports Association of Serbia
Head of the Private Office of the Minister of Defence, at the same time the Head of Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to International Military Sports Council (CISM), Brigadier General Siniša Radović met today a representative of the Sports Association of Serbia Davor Štefanek.
The topic of the meeting was continuation and development of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and the Sports Association of Serbia in joint sports activities.
General Radović emphasised the need to make the sports in the armed forces more recognisable through participation of top athletes in military sports competitions in country and abroad, which is why an initiative was launched on joint activities in the framework of a programme of the Olympic Committee of Serbia “Career after sports”. In that way the top athletes would be engaged in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
Štefanek pointed to the readiness of the Sports Association to support the military athletes in national and international sports events in expert, organisational, financial and educational sense. Also, he expressed his desire to participate as part of national team of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces at the forthcoming international sports competitions from the CISM programme.
At the meeting, the need was recognised for further enhancement and deepening of traditionally good and several years long collaboration, and for the continued support of the Sports Association of Serbia to development of sports in the armed forces.
