Even More Successful Cooperation with the Russian Federation
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin met today Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia Alexander Vasilyevich Chepurin, with whom he discussed the successful cooperation accomplished in the previous period, and the plans for the year to come.
It was assessed that the recent visit from the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić to the Russian Federation had considerably contributed to the enhancement of defence cooperation of the two countries. Furthermore, personal relation of esteem and mutual understanding developed between the presidents Putin and Vučić enables further deepening of cooperation between the two countries. It is precisely why we are particularly grateful for the readiness of the Russian Federation to get actively involved in the process of negotiations with Priština in case of change in the negotiations format.
A proof of the successful cooperation between the ministries of defence is the donation of six planes type MiG-29, and the expected continuation of military-technical cooperation, which is a tremendous contribution to modernisation process in the Serbian Armed Forces, including the assistance in other assets, such as tanks T-72 and armoured infantry vehicles, whose realisation is expected in the upcoming period.
As a military neutral country, Serbia will continue developing active and partner relations with the East and West alike.
