Military neutrality is defended by a strong military

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin participated today at the public discussion "Military Neutrality", organised by Odbrana Media Centre at its booth at the Belgrade International Book Fair.

Acting Assistant Minister of Defence, Major General Milan Mojsilović, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Branimir Filipović, Professor Branko Rakić, PhD, from the Faculty of Law, took part at the public discussion, as well, and moderator of the public discussion was Captain Aleksandar Petrović.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin stated that the policy of military neutrality is a permanent and fundamental determination of the state of Serbia.

- President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, very thoroughly work to ensure that our military neutrality is understood and accepted at all points of the world. And we have respect for such a policy, but in order for such a policy to be possible, we need to have a strong army, we need to have an army that is a strong deterrent factor and for which everyone understands and knows that it is not worthwhile to attack Serbia and that the price of aggression against Serbia and its army would be simply too high - Minister Vulin emphasized.

That is precisely why, according to the Minister of Defence, the Serbian state leadership led by the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić is working intensively on improving the material position of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces.

- I expect not only an increase in salaries, not just an increase in daily subsistence allowance payments, not just an increase in material allowances, but also a very quick start with a massive housing construction project that will enable all members of the security sector to have a roof over their heads and that their families are safe and secure, and then they will be safe and carefree and proud. Serbia has as its goal, as its policy and as its permanent commitment, a policy of military neutrality, and it needs strong, organized and satisfied armed forces - Minister Vulin said.

Odbrana Media Centre, at its booth, every day during the Book Fair, at 18 o'clock, organizes public discussions on current topics of defence and security. From 1 pm, the films of Zastava Film MFC are screened, from 4 pm - the fair promotions of new publications, and from 5 pm, socializing with authors and signing books.
